BAY SHORE SCHOOLS MICROPHONE SYSTEM
When the FCC announced in 2016 that the 600MHz band would be reallocated for use with T-Mobile’s 5G Cellular deployment, and that wireless microphone and IEM use within that band had to be ceased, Bay Shore School’s began planning for the upgrade of their 24 Shure ULX systems.
In spring of 2020, WiredUP designed, specified, built and installed a 28-Channel Sennheiser EW100-G4 complete system, with 24 bodypacks and ME-2 Lavalier microphone elements, as well as 4 dedicated E835 wireless handheld transmitters, as opposed to the previous system that required choosing between the bodypacks or handhelds.
In spring of 2022, WiredUP was asked to quote out another of the same system in a different frequency band, to finalize the system upgrade. The plan was to have one rack of each frequency band in each of the two buildings getting new microphone systems. However, due to cost increases, the school had called off the additional system purchase.
The system also included 4 ASA4 antenna distribution units per rack for a total of 8 between the two 12-space OSP rack cases.
