THE MAIN EVENT

Just like the owners of WiredUP, the owners of The Main Event love to party. They also like cool lighting, and sound systems that are easy to use. Great minds think alike, so they called in WiredUP to upgrade their lighting system, then called us again to upgrade their sound system.

We’ve been working with The Main Event for the past year to bring their systems into the 21st century. While the process has been a journey, we’ve been making great progress. The Main Event first wanted a lighting system throughout the building that could be controlled by zone. They also had an old pair of Martin Mac300’s that they wanted to integrate. All of their requests were granted, and we were even able to integrate their pre-existing Phillips ColorBlast fixtures that were being used for downlighting at both bars.

WiredUP added 4 Chauvet Intimidator Spot260X’s and a ShowXpress control system for ease of use. Each zone of the restaurant was programmed to operate independently, if desired.

Next up was the sound system. Initially, controlling the volumes of different zone’s would take place using the gain control on the facia of the amplifiers they were using. Which consisted of a QSC GX3, a fewYamaha P series amps, and a Crest 7001. At that, the restroom and vestibule speakers did not function. The entire building was already outfitted with RCF Acoustica Series speakers. So, WiredUP Designed, built and integrated a brand new state-of-the-art control system for their audio systems.

Using a QSC MP-M80 Zone Mixing and Pager, managers can now control the levels and source of each zone individually right from their phones, or the wall mounted QSC MP-MFC controller. There is no longer a need to go to the amplifier room and figure out where the right level is. With that, users can also route any zone, anywhere at any time. Want the big game on in the bar area but music everywhere else? Done. How about the game everywhere but music in the restrooms? Done. The possibilities are endless now.

In addition to that, WiredUP engineers did some system tuning to make everything sound good, and also integrated those previously non-functional bathroom and vestibule speakers. A DJ input was added since that was now a possibility, and new fabric was added to their subwoofers to make them look brand new again.
